Detailed Guide and Services

Digital Nomad visa and residency in Italy

Italy issues a Digital Nomad visa to foreigners who work remotely. You can be an employee of a foreign company or provide services as a freelancer or self-employed individual. The applicant first obtains the Digital Nomad visa in a country of residence, then travels to Italy and applies for a residence permit.

Standard steps:

  1. Schedule an appointment at the Italian consulate or visa center and prepare the documents. You can collect the documents yourself or use our Virtual Assistance service.
  2. Submit documents and get a visa for a year: Submit your documents at the consulate. Once the visa is ready, it will be placed in your passport. The process takes up to 4 months.
  3. Arrive in Italy: Within 8 days of arriving, you need to schedule an appointment for fingerprinting.
  4. Get your residency permit for 1 year. Receive the residence card (it can take up to a year).
  5. Submission of documents of a family. It is possible to attach family members from Italy (if they have Schengen visas), or to obtain permission for them to apply for D visas at the consulate only after the main applicant gets a resident card and permission to do it.
Firstly, it is important to decide where you will be living in Italy. It is highly recommended not to change your region of residence during the application process and the fingerprinting.

There are two options for your family:

  • to apply from Italy - if family members have a Schengen visa, they can apply in one day before the end of their legal stay. After that, they can legally remain only in Italy. Travel within the Schengen area is not allowed until the main applicant and family receive their residence permits.
  • to apply from the consulate in the country of citizenship or residence. The wait can be long, and the application can only be submitted after the main applicant receives the residence permit.

Relocation made affordable, transparent and easy

Migrun is the greatest service for relocation – I have received my residence permit in Spain as a digital nomad in less than 1.5 months – from initiation to approval. The best thing about Migrun – they have many affordable solutions combined with lots of free guides, so you get the best value for your money. Plus you never feel pressured to pay more than you really need. Which is truly the mission of the company – to make relocation affordable, transparent and easy. Special thanks to Irina Degtyareva for helping with my case and questions! Looking forward to work with the Migrun team further. Many thanks!

Immigration service with emphatic and fair approach

My immigration to Portugal wouldn't happen if not for Migrun. First, they have a LOT of free guides of how to collect documents for different visas and residency types + a great chat with a lot of immigrants sharing their experience. A year ago it was a very simple website and a chat of a couple thousands - now an extensive platform and a family of useful chats on Portugal the largest being 10K people. I have collected all documents for D7 visa with their help for free.Later I changed my mind and decided to apply for residency as highly-qualified professional from inside of Portugal and did so with a great help of Migrun. Today I have received my residency card.Business with emphatic approach - unlike many other immigration services who just try to rip you off using your lack of knowledge. All people in Migrun have always been friendly, honest and trying to do their best.
